The project begins with an inventory of applications, virtual machines, databases and their dependencies. We identify service owners, acceptable interruptions, storage growth and licensing constraints. This creates a migration sequence that can be reviewed by the people responsible for each application, including the systems that must remain available during transition.

Compute hosts are sized alongside shared or distributed storage, network segmentation and management access. The architecture identifies where redundancy is required and which failures it is intended to address. A private cloud proposal should state usable capacity after overheads and resilience choices, rather than presenting only the sum of component capacities.

The platform is selected after evaluating required features, support terms and the team’s ability to operate it. We configure the agreed management interfaces, roles, resource pools and templates. Platform subscriptions and application licences are separate items. Automation can be included for repeatable provisioning where its scope and ownership are clear.

Moves are planned around tested backups, application checks and a rollback path. Acceptance covers application access, resource allocation, monitoring and the agreed failure scenario. A live virtual machine is only one part of readiness; administrators also need instructions for patching, backup verification, capacity review and account management.

It separates infrastructure supply, subscriptions, implementation and ongoing support.
